Viba Barn Doors & Hardware is an Eco-Friendly Canadian Company
We believe it’s important to be an eco-friendly business so that we protect our community, resources and environment. Throughout the years, Viba Barn Doors & Hardware has taken a number of steps to ensure that 100% of the wood products we sell are environmentally friendly.
All of the wood used in the production of our barn doors is sustainably sourced—ensuring the long term health of the forest from which it came. It’s also important to note that all of our wood is local, reducing the emissions required to transport it to our shop. Any medium-density fibreboard (MDF) used in our shop is made from sawdust produced from lumber milling in Canada.
As we build doors, we collect any wood off-cuts and store them in recycled burlap coffee bags from a local coffee roaster. These bags of off-cuts are available free to our network of homeowners who use them to fuel their homes during the winter months. Even our sawdust is used by local gardeners or goes to compost. We also custom make our packaging (out of recycled cardboard which can be recycled again) to ensure barn doors arrive safely without harming the environment.
If you ever decide to switch out any of our barn door hardware, all of the steel and aluminum products we sell are fully recyclable.
Preserving the environment and being an eco-friendly Canadian company has always been important to us and we will continue to look at ways to cut our carbon footprint.

Viba Barn Doors & Hardware has been manufacturing sliding barn doors since 2013. All of our wood comes from local mills in the Kitchener-Waterloo area and our doors are constructed at our workshop in Oakville. We pride ourselves on our sustainable manufacturing process, which includes recycling all wood scraps and dust, and only using low VOC products.
