Customer FAQs On Sliding Barn Door Installation
Although sliding barn doors are becoming increasingly popular in homes across Canada, many homeowners have never owned or used them before installing one in their home. This leads to a lot of questions about how the doors slide, stop, and sound, so we decided to answer a few of the most popular customer FAQs we’ve received to clear up any concerns.
What keeps the barn doors from jumping off the tracks? Are barn doors safe?
When you install a sliding barn door using Viba’s hardware, you never have to worry about your beautiful barn door skipping, slamming, or jumping off the track The cutting-edge soft-close technology slows doors down at the last 3-inches on either side of the track to prevent them from slamming or bouncing when they stop at either end. Anti-jump buttons prevent the door from jumping or being accidentally being lifted off the rail
Will my door swing back and forth and damage my walls?
This is one of the most common customer questions we get, because many other sliding barn door styles tend to swing back and forth, which can scuff and damage walls, and place undue stress on your hardware.. To combat this common problem, we offer two styles of floor guides, which ensure your barn door will only move from side to side as intended.
-
Standard Bottom Guide: The Standard Bottom Guide s was designed to be a more permanent solution as it needs to be screwed into the floor, and fits into a groove in the bottom of your door.
- EZ Install Bottom Guide: If you have carpet, tile, heated floors, or just don’t want to drill into your flooring, this is the guide for you. These guides are easy to install and mount against the wall or baseboard so that you don’t have to fasten them to your floors.
Are barn doors loud? Do barn doors slide easily?
The sliding hardware we offer allows barn doors of all sizes to be opened and closed easily and quietly. Unlike the traditional barn door hardware, which has metal rollers, our barn door hardware uses nylon rollers fitted on high-quality bearings. These ensure the doors slide back and forth without making a sound, and our soft close technology allows the doors to come to a smooth and quiet stop every time.
