Storage Spaces and Sliding Barn Doors
An interesting way to use sliding barn doors is to cover storage spaces. We’ve had some clients order custom-sized doors to hide a storage alcove, protect a wine collection, or close off a pantry.
In this home, our client had a storage alcove that didn’t need to be accessed very often. By using a sliding barn door, they were able to use the space in front for a couch, while still being able to access the storage when needed.
Another client used a barn door as an entrance to their wine storage. Using a sliding door helped free up some space in the narrow hallway while also adding a nice aesthetically pleasing touch to the area.
Another way to use a barn door is to cover the pantry. Having the ability to completely slide open the door allows you to easily see what you have on hand, without sacrificing precious walking space.
While barn doors are often used to close off rooms, they can also be used as part of a storage solution!
We can build any size barn door you need. If you’d like to discuss ordering a barn door size that is larger (or smaller) than what’s listed on our website, don’t hesitate to call us at the shop. We’re available during business hours to help you select the right product or answer any questions you may have.

We've been building custom barn doors since 2013. All of our wood is sustainably sourced from the Kitchener-Waterloo area and our doors are constructed at our workshop in Mississauga.
